Private Act

A bill has been petitioned to provide for a private act to exempt the Inter-Ocean Credit Products Ltd, an exempt company incorporated on 12 June 2001, from certain provisions of the Companies Act, the Investment Business Act 1988 and the Insurance Act. The proposed act, inter alia, allows certain contracts to be designated an "event-linked financial instrument" and consequently not treated as a contract of insurance or reinsurance and not subject to the Insurance Act.
