the owner before demanding money pleaded guilty to attempted robbery charges in Supreme Court yesterday.

Philip Dwayne Doars, 23, of Tamarind Vale, Warwick, entered the store shortly after 9.00 p.m. on October 18 and demanded money from Mr. William Pearman who then set off an alarm. Doars fled empty-handed on a motorcycle.

Yesterday before Chief Justice the Hon. Mr. Justice Ward, Doars pleaded guilty to demanding property with menace and with intent to steal. He also pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening manner.

He is to appear for mention on January 10. Doars, along with 18-year-old Damon Ray Burgess, also faced robbery charges yesterday.

The two men were charged with armed robbery using violence, assault causing bodily harm and unlawfully possessing an offensive weapon.

They are alleged to have robbed Gareth Gauntlett of $300 on August 13, using a knife.

Doars pleaded guilty to the charges while Burgess, represented by lawyer Mr.

Tim Marshall, denied them.

Burgess was granted bail and will be brought back to court for mention on February 7. Doars, who is represented by Mr. Delroy Duncan, was remanded in custody until January 10.

Also at the monthly arraignments: Boulevard football player Amon James Brown was granted bail in Supreme Court after pleading not guilty to importing a substantial quantity of cannabis.

The offence allegedly occurred on August 8. Brown, 25, of Curving Avenue Pembroke, is represented by lawyer Mr. John Cooper.

He was released on $7,200 bail with one surety and is to reappear for mention on February 7.

Constance Eleanor Edness, 48, of Southampton, denied wounding Robin Hollinshead, intending to do grievous bodily harm and assaulting a Police officer. Edness, who is represented by lawyer Mr. Archie Warner, will appear in court again on January 10 for mention.

Bail was extended for two Hamilton men charged with robbery. Reid Charles Dean Robinson, 30, and Dwayne Robert Young, 29, are alleged to have committed the offence on March 28. Robinson is represented by lawyer Miss Elizabeth Christopher while Young is represented by Mr. Warner. Their trial is scheduled to begin on May 16.

Craig Nolan Astwood, 31, pleaded not guilty to two charges of assault causing bodily harm and to committing grievous bodily harm. His trial begins on January 10. Astwood, who is represented by Mr. Warner, was released on bail.

Ronald Eugene Lightbourne, 26, was charged with robbery and theft of a motorcycle. His trial is due to begin on May 16.
