Ill health postpones cocaine trial
The continuing ill health of a defendant in a Supreme Court drug trial has caused it to be adjourned until May 21.
Andre Phillip Hill, 53, collapsed in the dock at Supreme Court on Tuesday and had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.
He is on trial along with Raynol Shane Todd, 51, accused of conspiring to import cocaine some time prior to December 23 2004.
However, Hill was not well enough for the case to get underway on Wednesday, meaning that it was re-listed for later in the month.
Todd alone also stands charged with possessing cannabis and drug equipment in the form of a pair of digital scales on Christmas Day 2004. Meanwhile Hill alone stands charged with handling cocaine with intent to supply on Boxing Day 2004.
The pair has pleaded not guilty to all counts.
