Woman admits stealing shower products

A Pembroke woman has been given a conditional discharge after pleading guilty to theft.

Angela Gift pleaded guilty in connection with an incident that occurred earlier this month.

Police were called to the Clarendon Pharmacy, located at 31 Victoria Street, on April 8, 2017.

Magistrates’ Court heard that the 62-year-old woman was seen putting items into her bag while shopping. She eventually paid for some items, but not for others she had been observed putting into the bag.

“I don’t have a receipt, but can put the items back,” court heard of her response when confronted about the items in her bag.

The value of the shower products totalled $29.

She was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge by Magistrate Tyrone Chin.
