The Royal Itinerary

After attending a morning youth rally in Clifford Park in the Bahamas, the Royal couple will leave for Bermuda.

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will arrive at the Civil Air Terminal at 2.30 p.m. where they will be met by the Governor, Lord Waddington, and the Premier, the Hon. Sir John Swan.

Before 3 p.m. the Royal couple will be in St. George's Town Hall for a 10 minute visit and will then embark on the first walkabout of the tour, in King's Square.

The Queen and Prince Philip will then split up as Her Royal Highness will visit Tucker House while her husband travels to the Bermuda Biological Station for Research.

The Royal couple will meet again at Government House to present New Year's Honours to Bermudians.

And this evening they will attend the Speaker's Dinner at the Southampton Princess hotel.

CIVIL AIR TERMINAL 2.23 p.m. Premier the Hon. Sir John Swan and Lady Swan will arrive to be met by the Commanding Officer of the Bermuda Regiment, Lt. Col. Allan Rance and his wife.

2.25 p.m. The Governor, Lord Waddington and Lady Waddington will arrive. All dignitaries will wait at the foot of the aircraft steps.

2.28 p.m. The aircraft stops and the steps will be moved to the door.

2.30 p.m. Door opens. Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh step out and descend to be met by the Governor and Lady Waddington, who will present the Premier and Lady Swan and Lt. Col. Rance and his wife, the Bermuda Equerry, Mr. William Madeiros and the Aide-De-Camp Capt. Eddie Lamb. A bouquet will be presented to the Queen and a 21-gun salute will be fired by the Regiment.

2.31 p.m. Her Majesty will be taken to receive the salute by the Regiment and the first verse of "God Save the Queen'' will be played. The Queen will then inspect the Guard, accompanied by the Guard Commander. The Premier will then present the Cabinet.

2.43 p.m. The Royal party will walk past the public, including children from East End schools, and then leave the Airport for St. George's.

ST. GEORGE'S Town Crier Mr. Bobby Burns will announce the imminent arrival of the Royal party.

2.55 p.m. The Royal party will arrive in King's Square and will enter the Town Hall. Members and officials of the Corporation of St. George's will be presented along with their spouses.

3.05 p.m. The Royal couple will leave the Town Hall escorted by the Mayor, the Wor. Henry Hayward and his wife. They will be introduced to Members of Parliament representing St. George's and will then embark on walkabout in King's Square.

3.15 p.m. Her Majesty will be driven along Water Street to the Tucker House Museum, while Prince Philip will set off to the Bermuda Biological Station for Research.

3.17 p.m. The Queen will be greeted at Tucker House by Environment Minister the Hon. Gerald Simons and presented to the President of the National Trust Mr. David White and Director Mrs. Amanda Outerbridge at the front of the building. Her Majesty will unveil a plaque at the bottom of the steps. She will then be introduced to Mrs. Thomas Hall and Mr. Sam Wharton.

3.20 p.m. The Queen will enter Tucker House and be introduced to Chairman of the National Trust Museum Committee Mr. Hugh Davidson, who will escort her on a tour of Tucker House and the Archaeology Museum.

3.35 p.m. Her Majesty will leave St. George's for Government House.

BERMUDA BIOLOGICAL STATION FOR RESEARCH 3.17 p.m. The Duke of Edinburgh will travel in a Royal Naval car, accompanied by Brigadier Miles Hunt-Davis and Commander Robin Bawtree, Senior British Officer at HMS Malabar.

3.22 p.m. Prince Philip will arrive at Hansen Hall where he will be greeted by Minister of Management and Technology, the Hon. Grant Gibbons and his wife. He will be introduced to the Director of the Station Dr. Tony Knap. He will be briefed on the Jason Project and will watch a Jason Project transmission, along with 100 children.

3.50 p.m. His Royal Highness will participate in an "interactive period'' and meet school participants in the Project. He will walk from Hansen Hall to Wright Hall, meeting students in the courtyard.

4.10 p.m. The Duke will visit Weatherbird II and meet Capt. Lee Black, before touring the ship and viewing scientific equipment.

4.20 p.m. He will depart the Biological Station to drive to Government House.

GOVERNMENT HOUSE 3.45 p.m. Recipients of honours, and their guests, will arrive at Government House. A harpist and a flautist will play before and during the ceremony.

4.15 p.m. Her Majesty will arrive to be met by the Governor and Lady Waddington, and escorted to private quarters.

4.30 p.m. The Queen will preside over the Investiture Ceremony in the dining room. The recipients are: Knight Bachelor, Sir James Astwood; MBEs, Miss Ruth Thomas, Mr. Gordon Ashford and Mr. Edward Tucker; Her Majesty's Certificate and Badge of Honour Mr. C. Orville Bascome, Mrs. Alice Jean Howes, Mrs. Lucy Constance Willits, Mrs. Claudine Wilson, Mrs. Kim Young and Mr. Calvert "Kelly'' Zuill.

4.40 p.m. Her Majesty will meet recipients and guests in the drawing room.

4.50 p.m. The Queen and Prince Philip will meet local media representatives in the drawing room.

4.55 p.m. The Royal couple will retire.

SOUTHAMPTON PRINCESS 7.15 p.m. Invited guests will arrive at the Southampton Princess and should consult the seating plan inside the reception.

7.25 p.m. Lord and Lady Waddington will leave Government House.

7.30 p.m. Royal party will leave Government House. The Premier and Lady Swan will arrive to be met by the Secretary to the Cabinet.

8.00 p.m. The Speaker Mr. Ernest DeCouto and his wife, the Premier and Lady Swan will meet the Royal party and the Governor and Lady Waddington at the main entrance. They will pause at the second entrance to meet hotel management, Mr. Stephen Barker, Mr. Manfred Timmel and Mr. Brian Flanagan.

8.03 p.m. An official photograph will be taken of the Queen, Prince Philip and members of the Cabinet.

8.06 p.m. An official photograph will be taken of the Queen, Prince Philip, the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker Mr. Tim Smith.

8.08 p.m. Her Majesty and His Royal Highness will sign the Speaker's and the Premier's Guest Books.

8.10 p.m. Presentation of gifts to the Royal couple by the Premier.

8.15 p.m. The Royal party will arrive at the entrance of the Banqueting Hall to a fanfare of trumpets. They will move to their seats.

8.18 p.m. The Bishop of Bermuda, the Rt. Rev. William Down will say Grace.

8.20 p.m. Dinner will be served.

9.45 p.m. The Speaker will propose the Royal Toast.

9.47 p.m. The Speaker's welcome.

9.55 p.m. The Premier's welcome.

10.05 p.m. Her Majesty's reply.

10.15 p.m. The Royal party will leave.

WEDNESDAY The second day of the Royal visit signals another busy schedule for the Queen and Prince Philip. It begins with tree planting at Government House and then a morning trip to City Hall. The Queen will visit the Bermuda National Gallery and Prince Philip will visit the Bermuda Society of Arts Gallery.

The Queen will then visit the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital while Prince Philip will be at the Bermuda Cathedral.

The couple will meet up at Bermuda College at lunchtime and lunch at the Stonington Beach Hotel.

Her Majesty then visits the Maritime Museum and will conduct a walkabout in Dockyard and sail across the Great Sound to Royal Bermuda Yacht Club.

Before his arrival at the Yacht Club, Prince Philip will present Duke of Edinburgh Awards to 36 recipients.

There will be another walkabout at Albuoy's Point before the Royal couple travel to the Botanical Gardens to be entertained by local acts.

GOVERNMENT HOUSE 10.15 a.m. The Queen and Prince Philip will plant trees on Middle Terrace.

CITY HALL 10.15 a.m. Bermuda Institute Steel Band will perform until the arrival of the Royal party.

10.30 a.m. The Royal party will leave Government House.

10.40 a.m. They will arrive at City Hall to a fanfare of trumpets, and will be met by the Mayor, the Wor. Cecil Dismont and his wife. They will be introduced to the Secretary of the Corporation of Hamilton Mr. Roger Sherratt and his wife. They will enter City Hall to the accompaniment of soft music played by the Menuhin Foundation. The Royal couple will be presented to members of the Corporation and an informal photograph will be taken as they sign the visitors' book.

10.50 a.m. The Royal couple will leave the Mayor's Parlour escorted by the Premier and Lady Swan to the galleries on the first floor. The Menuhin Foundation will again play as they proceed to the galleries.

10.52 a.m. Her Majesty will be met by the Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs the Hon. Wayne Furbert. Prince Philip will be greeted by the Education Minister, the Hon. Clarence Terceira and his wife. Dr. Terceira will present the President of the Bermuda Society of Arts, Mr. Elmer Midgett, the First Vice President Mrs. Sheila Head, the Curator Mrs. Doreen Musson and her assistant Mrs. Helen Gibbons.

10.53 a.m. The Chairman of the National Gallery, Mr. John (Jay) Bluck and his wife and the Director of the National Gallery, Mrs. Laura Gorham will be presented to the Queen. Mr. Bluck will then present the Trustees: Mrs. Carole Bailey, Mr. Tom Butterfield, Mr. Geoffrey Elliott, Mrs. Louise Jackson, Mr.

John Kaufmann, Mr. Dennis Sherwin and Miss Ruth Thomas.

10.54 a.m. Prince Philip will view the works of secondary school students, escorted by Mrs. Musson and Mrs. Gibbons. He will meet the participants of the exhibition.

10.55 a.m. Her Majesty will visit the Watlington Room, Tucker Sisters Room and the Masterworks Collection, escorted by Mrs. Gorham.

11.05 a.m. The Royal party will proceed downstairs and exit City Hall to unveil a plaque covering a time capsule. A representative of the children who selected the contents of the time capsule will be presented.

11.10 a.m. The Royal couple will leave City Hall.

KING EDWARD VII MEMORIAL HOSPITAL 11.20 a.m. The Queen will arrive at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to be met by Minister of Health, Social Services and Housing the Hon. Quinton Edness and his wife. She will be presented to the Chairman of the Bermuda Hospitals Board, Mr. Robert Tucker and his wife and the Executive Director Mr.

Hume Martin and Director of Nursing Mrs. Lucille Parker. A bouquet will be presented by Candystriper Miss Raquel Emery. Members of the medical and nursing staff will be standing in the seating area of the lobby and Her Majesty will pause to acknowledge them.

11.25 a.m. Her Majesty will visit the Perry and Cooper wards. She will be escorted by Mr. Martin, Mrs. Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Tucker.

11.35 a.m. She will descend the lift to the Coffee Shop, where she will meet members of some of the major charitable groups and other hospital staff from the Women's Hospital Auxiliary, Patients Assistance League Service (PALS), Lady Cubitt Compassionate Association (LCCA), Supportive Therapy for AIDS Persons and their Relatives (STAR), Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Extended Care Family Council and St. Brendan's Amenity Committee.

11.45 a.m. The Queen will unveil a plaque in honour of the 100th anniversary of Hospital Care (outside the coffee shop).

11.52 a.m. Her Majesty will leave the hospital for Bermuda College.

BERMUDA CATHEDRAL 11.12 a.m. The Bermuda Boys Brigade will form a Guard of Honour. Prince Philip will arrive at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity where he will meet Canon James Francis at the bottom of steps and be escorted up the steps to the Cathedral porch to be presented to the Bishop of Bermuda the Rt. Rev. William Down and his wife and Mrs. Francis. He will then tour the Cathedral and view the restoration work and meet the people involved in the restoration.

11.25 a.m. The Duke of Edinburgh will have coffee with the Bishop and Chapter and representatives of other churches in the Cathedral Hall.

11.45 a.m. He will leave the Cathedral for Bermuda College.

BERMUDA COLLEGE 12.00 The Royal party will arrive at the Bermuda College and will be greeted in front of the West Gate by Minister of Education the Hon. Clarence Terceira and his wife. They will be presented to Chairman of the Board Dr. James King and his wife, and to the President of the Bermuda College Dr. George Cook and his wife. The Royal couple will meet the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors Mr. Kim White and the Permanent Secretary for Education Dr. Marion Robinson.

12.07 p.m. Presentation of the President of the Faculty Association Mr.

Michael Bradshaw and Support Staff Association President Mr. Alan Cann in checkout area where there will be a display of Bermudiana volumes. The Queen will unveil a commemorative plaque at the top of the stairs. They will then walk down the steps, past the flagpole to the College Circle where the Warwick Academy Orchestra will be playing on the grass. They will then walk past primary schoolchildren and college students.

12.17 p.m. The couple will enter the student centre where President of the Student Council Ms Juanita Rozzell will present a gift to Her Majesty. Student Council members will be in attendance.

12.22 p.m. The Royal party will leave the student centre by the west door and enter South Hall where they will view the Prospect Room set up fora service and training kitchen. There they will meet Chef Mr. Fred Ming and students.

12.35 p.m. The Queen and Prince Philip will leave South Hall by the south door to the courtyard and walk to the Stonington Beach Hotel. Hotel guests will be on the grass in front of the entrance. General Manager Mr. Bill Mulder will be presented.

12.40 p.m. The Royal couple will retire to rooms in the hotel for 10 minutes.

12.50 p.m. They will walk to Stonington Beach Hotel Library where selected lunch guests will be presented.

1.00 p.m. Lunch will be taken in the Norwood Room.

2.10 p.m. The Queen and Prince Philip will leave the Norwood Room through an "honour guard'' of kitchen and dining room students, the Maitre d'Hotel Mr.

Michael D'Atria and Executive Chef Mr. Gerry Van der Meer. They will then retire again for 10 minutes.

2.20 p.m. Her Majesty will leave the hotel for the Maritime Museum. Prince Philip will walk back to the College Court to present Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Recipients of Gold Awards: Patricia Adams, James Adderley, Kenneth Bartrum, Jennifer Bielby, Amanda Blakeney, Makesha Butterfield, Nikosha Hawker, Dean Lottimore, Kaven Lottimore, Desiree Pitcher, Claire Mancell, Charmaine Raynor, Amin Smith, Jason Simons, Andre Smith, Alexandra Tytheridge and Winnae Wales. Recipients of Silver Awards: Collingwood Anderson, Ronelle Burgess, Ralshon Douglas, Alikeh Doyle, Donte Hunt, Desirae Jones, Niel Jones, Khalid Muhammed, Reo Peniston, Sergio Pitcher, Azelia Providence, Raquel Smith, Tashon Tannock, Oneia Trott, Charnelle Turini, Giovanna Watson, Sarah Widdop and Malcolm Muhammed.

3.10 p.m. Prince Philip will walk to the Prospect Room in South Hall for a private reception with the award leaders and leaders of organisations.

3.30 p.m. He will leave the South Hall through the courtyard on the southside and leave the College.

MARITIME MUSEUM 3.00 p.m. The Queen will arrive at the Commissioner's House at the Maritime Museum to be greeted by the Minister of Works and Engineering the Hon. Leonard Gibbons and his wife.

The Minister will present the Chairman Mr. Paul Leseur, his wife, and Director Dr. Edward Harris. She will view renovation work on the ground floor and meet museum trustees, major donors, the warden, staff and Parliamentary representatives for Sandys on the verandah.

3.15 p.m. Her Majesty will view exhibits in the boardroom and meet Chairman of the Bermuda Monetary Authority Mr. Mansfield Brock and Authority General Manager Mr. Malcolm Williams who will present a commemorative coin to Her Majesty.

3.25 p.m. The Queen will leave the Maritime Museum by car.

3.30 p.m. The Sea Cadets will form a guard of honour at the Clocktower Building in Dockyard, where the Queen will meet HMS Malabar ship's company and residents of Lefroy House. Her majesty will then go on a walkabout.

3.40 p.m. She will leave Dockyard on board MV Andrea Christine escorted by a flotilla of motor boats and sail boats from the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and the Royal Hamilton Dinghy Club.

ROYAL BERMUDA YACHT CLUB 3.45 p.m. Prince Philip, accompanied by Brigadier Miles Hunt-Davis, will arrive at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club. He will be met by Commodore of the Yacht Club Mr. John Thompson at the front. Flag officers will be presented in the rotunda. He will then have tea with members in the dining room. The Duke of Edinburgh will meet artist Mr. Eldon Trimingham and a painting will be presented.

4.10 p.m. The Queen will arrive at the dock of the club where she will be greeted by Mr. Thompson and presented to Flag Officers of the yacht club and the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club. The Queen will enter the club, sign the visitors' book and view trophies.

4.15 p.m. Her Majesty will rejoin Prince Philip to view a Bermuda Fitted Dinghy at the end of the jetty immediately before going to the back verandah.

4.20 p.m. The Royal couple will leave via the main entrance and then go on walkabout at Albouy's Point. Her Majesty will be escorted by the Premier.

4.30 p.m. They will leave by car for the Botanical Gardens.

BOTANICAL GARDENS 4.30 p.m. The Band of the Bermuda Regiment will get into position.

4.36 p.m. The Premier and Lady Swan will arrive.

4.37 p.m. Lord and Lady Waddington will arrive.

4.38 p.m. The Royal party will arrive.

4.45 p.m. Performers will appear in the following order: The National Dance Theatre of Bermuda; a Mass Choir under the direction of Mrs. Ruzelda Nesbitt; Sophie Cannonier; Bermuda Institute Steel Band; Portuguese Dancers; Majorettes; H&N Gombeys; Bermuda Regiment Band.

5.30 p.m. The Royal party will leave for Government House.

5.45 p.m Return to Government House.

GOVERNMENT HOUSE 8.15 p.m. The Royal couple will meet Lord and Lady Waddington at the bottom of the stairs. They will join dinner guests in the Drawing room for pre-dinner drinks. Dinner will follow.

10.30 p.m. The Bermuda Regiment Band Beats the Retreat on the west terrace.

THURSDAY The final day of the Royal Tour mainly sees the Queen and Prince Philip saying goodbyes to Government officials and then flying home to England.

GOVERNMENT HOUSE 9.30 a.m. Presentation of photographs and presents. Her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh leave.

CIVIL AIR TERMINAL 10.20 a.m. The Royal couple arrive at the Civil Air Terminal. Lord and Lady Waddington and the Premier and Mrs. Swan take their leave.

10.30 a.m. The doors close and the plane departs.
