Energy medicine: Final week

Step one: Get ready

This week marks the last in an eight-week series of simple techniques people can perform to help feel refreshed, energised and calmer.

The techniques follow the principles of energy medicine and were developed by American energy healer, Donna Eden.

Bermudian Jane Lohan is trained in Ms Eden's techniques and advocates their use for everyone. The easy-to-do rituals take between half-a-minute to two minutes to do, and are completely safe.

Method:

1. Start with your hands on your thighs, fingers spread.

2. Inhale through your nose, circle your arms out, and bring your hands together in prayer position. Exhale through your mouth.

3. Inhaling through your nose, stretch one arm up and one down, pushing with your palms. Hold, exhale through your mouth, and return hands to prayer position.

4. Repeat, switching arms. Do twice on each arm.

5. Drop your arms down, fold your body forward at the waist, and relax with your knees slightly bent. Take two deep breaths before slowly retuning to a standing position.
