A thank you to the trainers
As the weeks go by and as the pounds fall off (for some more than others), we are continually being pushed to the limit. Don't get me wrong I am not complaining it's just a FYI moment.I want to take this time to acknowledge some of our trainers. Keep in mind that for the actual challenge there are only two given trainers, Jenille Smith and Antoine Lee. So it's like this. Sometimes I go to the gym either early or when our trainers have clients to do extra workouts (it just works that way sometimes). Rest well assured that I am still getting a full training session and more. I will do my warm-up like usual then before I can goof off there is some other trainer giving me something else to do. It seems like they just wait to see you doing nothing and ‘bam' they say “come over here dear, let's try this until your trainer is ready for you”.I will begin with Trainer Percy; he is the veteran and the wisest in my opinion. He gives you precise exercises for direct impact. He has little to no mercy for you. There is room for “no I can't do that or my knees are hurting”, so I'll do it my way which doesn't hurt. Percy continues, “No, no dear you must do it correctly for the best effect on your body. If you're hurting just take your time, but make sure you do all of your sets in triplicate resting in between and watch your breathing”. Percy has to keep reminding me, that the breathing helps with the exercise routines to make it a little easier. After we are finished Percy then tells me what to do for my sore and tried muscles. Soak in the tub, ice down my poor knees and ask for a muscle rub. That is the best thing of course because nothing beats a back rub. Then another trainer is Sam, the Man U fan. ‘Mister tough guy', whose bark is worse than his bite. At first glance he seems like the fun and games guy but that myth is soon dispelled. He too has an ‘explain it once and get it done' attitude. He wants to see you sweat (and sometimes tears - just joking). He is all about the burn. If you don't feel it, then you're not doing it right. I can hear him so clearly saying “If I could hear you talking than you are not working hard enough”.Lastly there is Chris and he seems like the young blood to me. If he sees you doing an exercise incorrectly he will quietly show you or tell you how to do it better.Keep in mind that all of this input from the other trainers is while they are on their own time or working with their own clients. There are so many others at the gym that are always looking out for us. To give us advice or just to show us something or the other to do it is truly a TEAM EFFORT at Sea View. This just shows me that I am in the best gym for me. I never feel like I am in this alone and there is always someone there to give me a push, nudge or a little helping hand in this everyday challenge.Thank you Trainers!
