Benefit from a lavender facial steam

This week we feature one of the simplest recipes.Steaming will help clean the pores on your face ridding them of excess oils that may have accumulated from eating greasy foods, wearing make-up or even face cream and sunblock.Lavender is antiseptic and antibacterial and has a soothing effect not only on the skin but also on the psyche. The oil is used by herbalists to ease migraines and tension headaches. Lavender has a sedative effect and so doing this steam can actually help you to relax and calm down.l Lavender facial steamPut a tablespoon of dried lavender flowers (available at local health food stores) in a large heat resistant mixing bowl. Add two and a half cups of boiling water and cover with a large towel for 30 seconds.Sit and bend your head over the bowl with the towel over your head and the bowl. Be careful not to hold your head so close to the steam that it burns you. Keep your eyes closed. Breathe normally. Stay over the steam for about ten minutes. If the steam dissipates gently blow into the bowl.Leave the towel over the bowl. Pat your face dry with a clean washcloth or paper towel. Cleanse and apply skin toner wait at least five minutes then add moisturiser.
