Sales assistant, Chelsae Talford said: “Along with our Christmas line, we have the cranberry that is doing well. It smells very sweet and is quite feminine. For the cranberry it’s mostly the shower gels and bubble balls.“With the libertine a lot of people seem to like the lotions because they are very light. With the cherry blossom it’s the body mist that is popular right now because you catch the scent.” Items range from $13.95 to $39.For the woman who likes to cook up a storm:Karen Ingham, the sales manager at Masters, recommended the Rachael Ray pots and bake ware for the women in your life. The durable, non-stick cookware come in citrus-hues like yellow, lime green and orange. “We also have scented candles and plenty of diffusers and potpourri. These are all the scented things I think they would like. We also have electric blankets and bed warmers,” she said.For the fashionista in your life:At Gibbons department store, there are hot items from 100 percent cashmere sweater sets in a variety of jewel tones, costing $69 got the tank and $119 for the cardigan. CEO Paula Clarke predicts accessories from Max Azria BCBG and Mango, Monet pearls and a large collection of scarves (for about $21) will be all the rage this holiday season.Ms Clarke said the store was also stocked with a collection of cocktail dresses for the festive season that allowed women to go “from desk to dinner”. They also have shoes from brand names like Nine West, Anne Kline and Bandolino. They also have popular items in their sleepwear and intimate apparel collection, from Hello Kitty to Calvin Kline.For the woman who loves to read:Brown and Company suggest a range of titles including Danielle Steels’ new title Hotel Vendome, Philippa Gregory’s two new hardbacks ‘The woman of the Cousins War’ and ‘Lady of the River’, Tyra Banks first novel ‘Model Land’ and any of Chelsea Handlers books, which are a fun read for ladies.Elizabeth Bradshaw-Bell, the department manager, also recommended the complete range of Paolo Coelho novels, such as The Alchemist and Aleph, Christian fiction writer Karen Kingsbury’s series and the latest range of cookery books from Naked Chef Jamie Oliver to food network stars like Rachel Ray, Giadia and Alton Brown.“The best gift I can recommend this year for ladies is the new Bermy Chick Chronicles novel by local Cha'Von Clarke, "When lightning Strikes"- exclusive to Bookmart,” said Mrs Bradshaw-Bell. It’s the leather shell of a notebook, about the size of a checkbook, for $35 to $40. “You buy the shell and you can fill it with anything you want, from line paper to a full contact list, whatever you like,” said owner Kristi Grayston.She said the store also had whimsical ornaments from Patience Brewster from $26 to $135; a beautiful cake plate with red shoes on it for $200; and one-of-a-kind bags with the nautical map of Bermuda on it, retailing for $480.
