Here’s an exercise KEMH speech and language pathologist Damany Phifer uses with clients:1) Choose two pairs of words.2) Tell the person you are working with to group the words that belong together.3) Say the words in any order to the person you are working with eg coat, cookies, milk, hat.4) Ask the person to repeat the words back to you dividing them into two groups. The person should say: coat and hat; milk and cookies.
