Spate of burglaries prompts warning

Three parishes were struck during a spate of burglaries, with electronics and jewellery taken from five different homes.

Police reported break-ins in Devonshire, Hamilton Parish and St George’s on Thursday.

Residents are reminded to lock up before leaving their homes, and secure valuables out of sight.

Also on Thursday, a 51-year-old Pembroke man was put in hospital following a two-cycle crash at 9.40pm. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The vehicles collided at the junction of Cobbs Hill Road and Ord Road, with the other rider, a 19-year-old Devonshire man, receiving minor injuries.
