The Hamilton Princess has grabbed a top ten spot for Atlantic island resorts in a poll of readers of an international travel magazine.

The Hamilton hotel took the anchor position in the Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards top ten for this year with a score of 96.21 out of 100 and tenth place.

The magazine’s write-up of the hotel said: “From the street, this stately structure is hard to miss.

“For starters, it’s bright pink, a rose-coloured hue that led locals to deem it the ‘Pink Palace’ when it was first built.

“These days it’s simply called the Princess – once inside, you’ll see her crown jewels sparkle.”

The story also highlighted the hotel’s recent renovations, restaurants, modern art collection and Southampton beach club.

Tim Morrison, the general manager of the hotel, said: “We are truly delighted to have been voted as one of the best resorts in the Atlantic islands by the readers of Condé Nast’s Traveler, particularly during this challenging time for our industry.

“To also be recognised as the best in Bermuda is a particular honour, given the incredible hotels we have on the island.

“We want to say thank you to all of our guests who voted and to our incredibly hardworking and dedicated team members, whom without this would not have been possible.”

But the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club was not the only Bermuda resort on the list.

Rosewood Bermuda earned 15th place on the list with a score of 90.27 out of 100.

The write-up said: “On a hilltop overlooking turquoise Castle Harbour, Rosewood is the epitome of extravagance, from its whitewashed marbled corridors right on down to its powdery pink sand beach.

“There’s a feeling you get the instant you walk in – one of decadence or even hedonism.

“Because, after all, you’ve just stepped foot into Bermuda’s most luxurious hotel.”

Point Grace in the Turks & Caicos Islands took the top prize with a score of 99.5.

Kamalame Kay and Rosewood Baha Mar – both in the Bahamas – rounded out the top three, with scores of 99.47 and 99.15 respectively.
