Everest Re Group Ltd. has appointed former One Beacon Insurance Group general counsel Roger Singer to its board of directors

Mr. Singer, who also served as the Commissioner of Insurance for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1987 to 1989, became a director of the Bermuda reinsureon Wednesday.

Everest chairman and CEO Joseph Taranto said: "We are delighted to welcome Roger to the Everest Board of Directors. The depth of his knowledge and experience, both inside and outside the insurance industry, will certainly benefit the group and we are fortunate to have attracted an executive of Roger's calibre to our board."
