The Railway Trail has been adorned with artwork designed to celebrate love.

Nicky Gurret, an artist and architect, used her talents to create The Natural Heart, a piece of “eco art”.

Ms Gurret said she created the piece to give the public “comfort and joy” over the pandemic.

She added: “During Covid-19, more of the public are exploring nature and utilising our parks and railway trails.

“This installation is for the public and it is a physical reminder of the power of love.”

The artwork, on a wall near Sound View Road, Sandys, was installed with the permission of the Railway Trail Committee and under the supervision of the parks department.

It is accompanied by words from the bible verse Corinthians 13:4-12 on love and will be on display for up to three months.

Ms Gurret also organises the annual Bermuda Sand Sculpture Competition at Horseshoe Bay in Southampton and the Bermuda Beach Art Festival.

She cofounded of PechaKucha Bermuda, a mini-lecture series, in 2012.
