Charities’ Covid testing regime gets $10,000 BF&M boost
Covid-19 testing regimes for charities delivering front line services have received a boost thanks to a $10,000 donation.
Insurance company BF&M responded to a call from the Bermuda Community Foundation which said while some non-profits have been able to garner support through existing relationships, there remain some that have not.
These groups are dependent on collective funding partners for access to health management supplies.
Myra Virgil, managing director of BFC, said: “Needs far exceed the Bermuda Community Foundation’s grant-making budget and we can’t fund it alone. Coordinating such a large ask of the public also exceeds our current resource capacities.
“Thus we approached businesses to assist, and we are grateful for BF&M’s contribution to this effort. By pooling gifts such as BF&M’s, we can make a collective impact.”
Abigail Clifford, president and COO of BF&M Limited, added: “Testing regimes are a key tool in the management of Covid-19. Bermuda’s non-profit workers put themselves at risk through their service and are often working with vulnerable groups.
“We are immensely grateful for the services they provide to the community and we are pleased to be able to contribute towards their health management.”
