Winners of a raffle drawn from customers who switched to paperless billing were announced today.

Dawnette Bell won a $500 gift card through Belco’s e-billing campaign, while Latisha Perinchief-Leader won a $250 gift card.

The prize draw ran throughout the month of May and drew from a pool of more than 500 customers who signed up for electronic billing.

A Belco spokesman said that, while about 10,500 bills are printed and mailed monthly, about 72 per cent of customers receive their bills electronically.

Wayne Caines, the president of Belco, said: “We have been offering e-bills for almost 15 years and most of our customers use this service, which is more efficient and better for the environment than printing and posting paper bills.

“We had a great response to our prize draw with more than 500 customers signing up for e-billing.

“I encourage customers who haven’t signed up for e-bills yet to do so. By working together, we can save resources, reduce our environmental impact and progress our goal of ensuring Belco becomes a more sustainable company.”
