Residents and businesses in the City of Hamilton have been told that trash collection will be affected by the holiday season.

A statement by the City said that trash collection will stop at 8pm on Saturday and resume next Wednesday, with no collection on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

Trash collection will halt again at 10pm on December 30, resuming on January 2 with no collection on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.

All garbage should be placed on the sidewalks or designated garbage areas by the times indicated in the collection schedule.

The Ministry of Public Works announced previously that the holidays would also affect waste collection outside the municipality.
