A floral feast

Flowers are the focus of most of Tracy Williams' pieces.

Tracy Williams' watercolours and oil paintings are the current focus of Masterworks' Artist-in-the-Gardens' series.Ms Williams has been exhibiting her works in Bermuda for 20 years. Her relationship with Masterworks was renewed with the launch of the museum and the first Charman Prize in 2008.She has since displayed works in all three Charman Prizes, winning a prize each year. Her work has also been featured in several Bacardi Limited Biennials at the Bermuda National Gallery. Flowers are the focus of most of her pieces in this exhibit. “While I do not limit myself to a specific subject, the ones I choose are those that can best express direction, shape, movement, shadow and light,” she said.“Plants and flowers are exceptionally valuable in this regard and have the added benefit of exquisite colour. Most of my paintings tend to be close to the subject, and in a few cases might be mistaken for abstract rather than representational work.”The show runs through March 2.
