The Stage Group is coming to town tonight
Geoffrey Durrant, “The Sheikh of Sandys”, will be invading the central parishes this Saturday night with his St James Stage Group and a revamped presentation at St Paul AME Heritage Hall of their 2012 Easter Monday Night show. For the past decade the Stage Group has been invited to give an “away from home” repeat performance of their show that ordinarily attracts patrons from all over the Island, who are guaranteed to have a good Easter Monday night laugh. This will be the first time at Heritage Hall. The Sandys Group are hilarious with members producing their own off the cuff skits normally from everyday happenings. We have reason to believe that this weekend there will be heavy focus on one of the longtime stars, Rosemary Joell Cann. Rosemary has always had a yen for the arts and is guaranteed to make people burst out with her skits from the time she hits the stage. One of the earliest memories of this mother of four (a daughter deceased) and grandmother of five girls and a boy was years ago when she did cartwheels across the stage at the old Opera House. Rosemary was then performing in Swan Lake, one of the most memorable productions of former Canadian resident Gregory Gordon.
