Holland seals Warriors win

Nate Holland’s three-pointer at the game buzzer earned Robin Hood Warriors a hard fought 61-59 come from behind victory against Fort Knox Panthers at Somersfield Academy on Saturday night.Jason Lowe led Warriors’ scoring with 15 points. But it was the late heroics of team-mate Holland who leaped from the bench to drain the game-winner from beyond the three point arch.Holland entered the game after Junior Warner fouled out and provided the spark his team needed to push them safely across the line.Kevin Stephens led all scorers with 22 points but it wasn’t enough to guarantee victory for a short-handed Panthers team that suffered a setback when starting centre Jonathan Lowe fouled out in the closing minutes of the second period.Lowe’s departure left his already depleted team with only four players for the remainder of the match. Yet despite having at a numerical disadvantage, Panthers, who said their goodbyes to sharpshooter Sean Hutchingson who is leaving the Island, led all night until Holland intervened.
