Warriors take lead in play-offs

Robin Hood Warriors won game one of the CellOne Elite City League finals at Somersfield Academy on Thursday night.

The Warriors edged Fort Knox Panthers 40-39 in a defensive battle to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series.

Keiron Dill capitalised on poor defending to score the game winner with a lay-up with 11 seconds remaining on the clock.

Dave Middleton led the Warriors scoring with 13 points while Jonathan Lowe replied with 12 in a losing cause for the Panthers.

The Warriors can clinch the championship with victory in game two on Saturday while the Panthers will also be looking to win at all costs to keep their title hopes alive.

To date no team has come from behind to win the championship. However, the Panthers managed to come back from a 1-0 deficit in the play-offs en route to the final.,
