Ralph Scott to feature for Rest of World at 2026 Iversen Classic
Bermuda’s budding basketball star Ralph Scott has been selected to play for the Rest of the World team at the 2026 Iversen Classic.
Founded by Hall of Famer Allen Iversen, an 11-times NBA All-Star and the NBA’s Most Valuable Player in 2001 for the Philadelphia 76ers, the prestigious tournament features the best high-school players in America.
The event, now in its tenth year. regularly highlight the nation’s top prospects, with five Iverson Classic alumni now NBA Champions after the Oklahoma City Thunder captured the NBA title last year. That roster included Chet Holmgren and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, previous players at the tournament.
Scott will be suiting up alongside players from Canada, China, Ghana, Nigeria and the United Kingdom to take on the best the United States has to offer in the 24k Showcase, which is scheduled to take place on April 30 at Bethel High School in Hampton, Virginia.
The 17-year-old became the first Bermudian to to make a College selection live on television in October, committing to the University of Tennessee.
The 6ft 7in forward attracted the attention of a number of top colleges, choosing the Vols over Purdue, Houston and Texas A&M, with Jamie Shaw, a senior national recruiting analyst, among those to be impressed by Scott.
“The upside with Scott is what is so intriguing,” Shaw said.
“You immediately see the frame, he has great length and projectability. Watching him play, there is an interesting athletic fluidity, along with an ability to move and switch direction at pace.
“You like the defensive upside with his natural physical attributes. Scott has some ball skills and he has some touch.
“He is going to need reps and minutes, as well as continue improving his strength and leverage, but there is no doubt the ceiling is very high for him.”
