Shares of Ascendant Group Ltd fell 0.2 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.The parent company of power utility Belco dipped five cents to close on $30.50 as 800 shares changed hands.Ascendant’s shareholders have approved the company’s sale to Canadian-based Algonquin Power and Utility Corp for $36 per share and is awaiting approval from the Regulatory Authority.Butterfield Bank remained unchanged on $25.25 as 516 shares were traded.The bank’s US-listed shares gained 36 cents, or 1.46 per cent, to close on $25.08 on the New York Stock Exchange, as 124,136 shares were traded.The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 0.48 of a point to close on 1,829.33.The BSX Insurance Index gained 38.59 points, or 2.8 per cent, to close on 1,411.39.
