Argus drops 5.5%

Argus Group Holdings Ltd. dropped 5.5 percent (30 cents) on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week.

The insurer traded 24,400 shares to close at $5.20.

The Ascendant Group Ltd. also fell 3.7 percent (56 cents) to $14.39, as 3,574 shares changed hands.

Butterfield Bank's common shares, meanwhile, declined 1.5 percent (two cents) to $1.33, with 81,042 shares transacted.

The bank also traded two preference shares, but its share value held firm at $1,275.

BF&M Ltd. rose 0.4 percent (five cents) to $13.75, as 3,500 shares changed hands.

Overall the Index slipped 19.6 points (1.66 percent) to 1,176.68, with 112,516 shares worth BD$329,331.30 and 2,102 shares worth US$24,410 transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index was up eight points (0.8 percent) at 992.
