Ascendant moves up

The Ascendant Group Ltd was the biggest mover on The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) last week.

The energy company traded 2,859 shares to close up 1.8 percent (25 cents) at $14.25.

Fellow utilities provider KeyTech Ltd saw 28,416 shares change hands, but its share price held firm at $5.45.

Other traders included Butterfield Bank (67,000 common shares and 73 preference shares), BF&M Ltd (14,800 shares) and Kentucky Fried Chicken Bermuda Ltd (4,950), but all of their share values held firm.

Overall the Index rose 3.24 points (0.26 percent) to 1,237.78 as 118,025 shares worth BD$540,016.20 and 73 shares worth US$90,140 were transacted.

The BSX Insurance Index also climbed 26 points (2.86 percent) to 884.
