Ascendant Group rose 5.8 percent on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) yesterday, as 5,000 of the utility company’s shares traded hands.The shares closed up 75 cents, at $13.75.Butterfield Bank Preference Shares also traded closing up $1.00, or 0.1 percent, at $1,232.00, on a volume of 35 shares.BF&M shares closed down 25 cents or 1.7 percent, finishing at $14.75 as 3,000 of the shares changed hands.Overall the BSX ended the day up 0.43 percent, or 4.80, at 1,112.19.The BSX Insurance Index closed up 0.97 percent, or 10,00 at 1036.00.
