Three companies slide on BSX
The Royal Gazette/ Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Index slid last week as three domestic companies saw their share prices decline.Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd, owner of The Royal Gazette, suffered the largest fall of 7.5 percent, although on very low volume, as 110 shares traded. BPH slipped 75 cents to $9.25.Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd fell 75 cents, or seven percent, to end the week on $10, as 700 of its shares changed hands.Ascendant Group Ltd, owner of Belco and Bermuda Gas, fell 20 cents, or 1.6 percent, on the trading of 2,023 shares. The company closed the week on $12.05.Insurer BF&M Ltd bucked the week’s trend by climbing 45 cents, or 2.9 percent, to $15, as 5,000 shares changed hands.Butterfield Bank was the most actively traded company, with 73,685 of its shares trading, as the price remained at $1.23.The Royal Gazette / BSX Index fell 4.01 points, or 0.37 percent, to close the week on 1,058.78. Volume was just shy of 82,000 shares, while turnover topped $261,000.
