BSX dips 2%

The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange Index fell nearly two percent last week, as KeyTech Ltd was the only domestic-board company to advance.

The index closed on Friday at 1,143.17, down 22.63 points, or 1.97 percent, over a trading week shortened to four days by the Remembrance Day holiday.

Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd plunged 10.5 percent, as its share price dipped 40 cents to $3.40 on the trading of 100 shares.

Ascendant Group Ltd, owner of electricity provider Belco, slid 7.7 percent, also on low volume. Ascendant closed at $10.15, down 85 cents, as 200 shares were exchanged.

Butterfield Bank also fell, shedding three cents, or 2.1 percent, to end the week on $1.40, as 19,640 shares were traded.

KeyTech, owner of BTC, gained one percent, as the company’s share price advanced five cents to $5.30 on the trading of 259 shares.

BSX volume for the week was 22,183 shares, while turnover topped $48,000.
