Argus climb boosts BSX

Strong upward moves in the share prices of Argus Group Holdings and Butterfield Bank drove the local stock market higher last week.
Insurer Argus recorded the biggest gain of the five days’ trading, rising 69 cents, or 17.3 percent, to close on $4.69, as 9,425 shares traded.
Butterfield gained two cents, or 1.4 percent, to end the week on $1.49 on the trading of 51,000 shares.
Ascendant Group managed a slight upward move, rising one cent, or 0.1 percent to close on $10.01.
The one domestic-board stock to fall was LOM (Holdings), which dipped ten cents, or 4.2 percent, to close on $2.30.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed on Friday at 1,203.5, up 21.37 points, or 1.77 percent.
Volume totalled more than 76,000 shares and turnover topped $280,000.
