Ascendant shares slide 7.4%

Shares of electricity provider Belco’s parent company slid to a 52-week low in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.
Ascendant Group Ltd dipped 40 cents, or 7.4 per cent, to $5, as 10,600 shares traded.
Butterfield Bank’s 8 per cent preference shares was the only domestic-board issue to rise, gaining $1, or 0.1 per cent, to close on $1,136 on the trading of 40 shares.
BF&M Ltd remained on $18 as 3,000 shares changed hands.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 3.84 points, or 0.29 per cent, to close the day on 1,302.45.
Trading volume totalled 14,443 shares and turnover was just shy of $160,000.
The BSX Insurance Index slid 8.91 points, or 0.56 per cent, to close on 1,570.42.
