Butterfield boosts the BSX

Shares of Butterfield Bank and KeyTech Ltd rose to drive The Royal Gazette/BSX Index higher last week.

Butterfield was the biggest climber, advancing four cents, or 2.3 per cent, to close on $1.80 as 19,874 shares traded.

Telecommunications firm KeyTech Ltd, owner of Logic Communications, gained five cents, or 1.8 per cent, to close on $2.90 as 2,100 of its shares changed hands.

BF&M Ltd was the only domestic-board stock to lose ground, falling ten cents, or 0.6 per cent, to close the week on $17.20, just five cents above its 52-week low.

The index climbed 17.84 points, or 1.4 per cent, to close the week on 1,265.27.

Bermuda Stock Exchange trading volume for the week topped 33,000 shares, while turnover was more than $209,000.
