Butterfield shares rise 3.7%

Butterfield Bank shares helped The Royal Gazette/BSX Index rise more than 2 per cent
The Bank of Butterfield rose 6 cents, or 3.7 per cent, on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index to propel the market higher today.
The increase came after 58,836 shares changed hands, leaving the bank’s price at $1.70.
Telecoms firm KeyTech was unchanged at $3 after 5,000 shares traded.
The index closed up 26.98 points, or 2.25 per cent, at 1,225.28.
The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 1.35 points or 0.08 per cent at 1,679.91.
