The Bank of Butterfield rose three cents, or 1.8 per cent, on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index to close at $1.68.

The move came after 29,502 shares changed hands.

Utilities firm Ascendant Group was unchanged at $5.45 after 200 shares sold.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 13.49 points, or 1.12 per cent, at 1,217.41.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 1.80 points, or 0.11 per cent, at 1,643.75.
