The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was closed on Monday and yesterday for the holiday. However, last week it chalked up a 71.20-point rise, or 3.63 per cent, to close at 1,962.5.

Shares of insurance group BF&M improved 50 cents, or 2.5 per cent, to $20.50 after 12,000 traded.

Butterfield Bank shares improved $1.50, or 4.9 per cent, to $32 after 8,374 traded. The bank’s shares also moved higher on the New York Stock Exchange yesterday, up 21 cents, or 0.65 per cent, at $32.51.

The BSX Insurance Index ended last week up 0.33 points, or 0.02 per cent, at 1,782.81.
