Butterfield gains 0.7 per cent

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index climbed 0.5 per cent

Nearly half a million dollars worth of Butterfield Bank shares traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange as the bank reached a new 52-week high.

Butterfield, the only stock to trade on the BSX domestic main board, gained 25 cents, or 0.7 per cent, to close on $36.25 as 12,950 shares changed hands.

Butterfield’s New York Stock Exchange-listed shares fell 31 cents, or 0.85 per cent, to close on $36.27.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index added 11.24 points, or 0.53 per cent, to close the day on 2,148.9.
