Butterfield shares gain 1.4%

A positive move from Butterfield shares pushed The Royal Gazette/BSX Index 1 per cent higher
Shares of Butterfield Bank rose 1.4 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
The bank was the lone stock to trade and closed 50 cents higher at $37.50 on the trading of 779 shares.
In New York, Butterfield’s shares surged 74 cents, or 1.93 per cent, to close on $39.15.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 22.49 points, or 1.03 per cent, to close on 2,210.94.
The BSX Insurance Index advanced 22.18 points, or 1.2 per cent, to close on 1,896.32.
