Shares of Butterfield Bank improved by 50 cents to close at $39.50 after 5,130 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The bank’s shares were up 12 cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $39.90 on the New York Stock Exchange.

Meanwhile, on the local exchange, shares of BF&M Ltd were down $1.50, or 8.1 per cent, after 300 changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index moved 11.01 points higher, or 0.48 per cent, to 2,289.41.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 7.29 points, or 0.39 per cent, at 1,881.35
