Butterfield Bank shares improved by 50 cents, or 1.1 per cent, to $46, after 3,000 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

On the New York Stock Exchange the bank’s shares were 16 cents lower, or 0.34 per cent, at $46.80.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 22.49 points, or 0.88 per cent, at 2,584.24.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 15.88 points, or 0.85 per cent, at 1,882.49.
