Butterfield Bank shares fell by $2, or 4.1 per cent, to $47 after 1,532 were traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were up 79 cents, or 1.66 per cent, at $48.24.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 89.95 points, or 3.32 per cent, at 2,621.87.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 2.84 points, or 0.15 per cent, at 1,876.52.
