Shares of HSBC Holdings Ltd fell 20 cents, or 2.39 per cent, to $8.15 after 200 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

There was also an exchange of 2,000 shares of Ascendant Group Limited, and 3,999 shares of One Communications Ltd but with no change to the closing price of either stock.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was unchanged at 2,076.92 points, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 7.99 points, or 0.54 per cent, at 1,477.66.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down 52 cents, or 1.59 per cent, at $32.14.

In separate news, Somers Limited announced that during last month it purchased 100 of its own common shares at an average cost of $16 per share. These shares have been cancelled. The number of Somers’ common shares in issue as at November 30, was 20,057,517 (net of 100 treasury shares).
