Shares of Ascendant Group improved 50 cents, or 2.9 per cent, to $17.50 after 770 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

There was also trading in 4,096 shares of One Communications and 270 shares of BF&M Ltd, but with no change to their closing prices.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down 30 cents, or 0.83 per cent, at $35.94.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 4.82 points, or 0.22 per cent, at 2,166.08. The BSX Insurance Index was up 18.95 points, or 1.24 per cent, at 1,543.57.
