Butterfield Bank shares jump 9.7%

Butterfield Bank shares jumped $3, or 9.7 per cent, to $34 after 3,008 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.
On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were up $2.78, or 8.61 per cent, at $34.42.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 148.35 points, or 7.29 per cent, at 2,138.86, while the BSX Insurance Index was up 73.84 points, or 4.66 per cent, at 1,658.87.
