Total turnover on the Bermuda Stock Exchange was $103,030.50
The RG/BSX Index fell 34.46 points, or 1.23 per cent, to 2,778.39, partly based on the trading of 2,377 shares of Butterfield Bank. The company’s stock price fell 75 cents (1.8 per cent) to close at $41.50.
Two other companies, Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd and Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd, rose in price. BPL rose $2 (40 per cent) to close at $7.00 due to the trading of 200 shares of the stock, while BAS rose 74 cents (59.2 per cent) to close at $1.99, after the trading of 1,500 shares.
On the New York Stock Exchange, Butterfield Bank rose 70 cents, or 1.67 per cent, to $42.63, with 155,201 shares changing hands.
