Shares of Bermuda Aviation Services soared by 22.7 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today. BAS gained 25 cents to close on $1.35 as 188,000 of the company’s shares traded.

The RG/BSX Index gained 1.49 points (0.04 per cent) to close the day on 3,418.28. For the week, the index was 144.52 points (4.22 per cent) higher.

During the five days of trading, Allshores was a penny lower at $21 after the sale of 6,800 shares. Devonshire Industries fell $1.50 (23.1 per cent) on trading of 9,761 shares to close at $5. Butterfield Bank closed at $53.50 after share trading of 19,858, closing up $2.50 (4.9 per cent).

Yesterday, Butterfield gained 22 cents (0.42 per cent) on the New York Stock Exchange, closing at $52.74 in light trading.
