Butterfield climbs 3% on BSX

Shares of Butterfield Bank rose 3 per cent on the Bermuda Stock Exchange today on light volume. The bank closed on $50.50, up by $1.45, as 178 shares changed hands.
Butterfield was the only domestic-board issuer to trade. The Royal Gazette/BSX Index rose 83.48 points, or 2.63 per cent, to close on 3,256.51.
The US-listed shares of Butterfield also gained ground, gaining 23 cents, or 0.46 per cent, to close at $50.77 on the New York Stock Exchange, on below-average volume of 114,161 shares.
