I just wanted to get in the atmosphere and that really helped me.”While pleased with his showing in the ring with Garant, Bascome admits there’s still room for improvement.“I have to do some more tuning to my technique and that’s what I’m going to be working on in the gym,” he said. “My breeze and stamina is up, so it’s just getting out some of the rust and tuning up more on my technique.“Mentally I’m ready because once you tell me I’m going to fight I’m in the zone. So mentally right now I’m ready to put the work in in the gym because that’s where the fight is won. I know that I have a fight now, so there’s no turning back.”Bascome admits he knows very little about the challenger.“I don’t know much about him, but I’ll be ready,” he said. “I know he’s trying to take what’s mine, so I have to be mentally ready.”
