Shyne Barrow speaker at Labour Day banquet
Grammy award-winning artist turned politician Shyne Barrow is to deliver the keynote speech at the Bermuda Industrial Union’s sold-out 2026 Labour Day Banquet.
The former Belizean Leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives, and the leader of the Belize United Democratic Party, will speak at the 41st annual event scheduled to be held at the Hamilton Princess and Beach Club on September 11.
A spokesman said: “A Grammy award-winning writer and performer whose platinum debut album Shyne left a lasting mark on hip hop, Shyne went on to serve more than a decade in Belizean public life as the Ambassador of Culture, a Member of Parliament, and former leader of the Opposition and United Democratic Party.
“His extraordinary journey from global recording artist to national leader reflects the power of resilience, reinvention and service.”
