BUEI fundraiser includes auction and local comedians
Members of the community have been invited to a light-hearted evening of comedy in support of ocean education and exploration at a charity auction fundraiser.
The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute is hosting For the Love of the Ocean on Thursday featuring two well-loved Bermudian comedians, Nadanja Bailey and Jonathan Young.
Traci Burgess, the chief executive of BUEI, said: “This dynamic duo will guide bidders through an exciting array of auction action.
“While this event is not a comedy show, there will surely be plenty of laughs throughout the evening.
“Guests will have the opportunity to bid on a spectacular selection of silent and live auction items featuring stunning prizes to suit almost every interest.
“Individual prizes and packages include a Seabob water craft, BermudAir vacation getaway, private dining experiences, Bermuda adventures, a night in the museum at BUEI, golf and spa packages, and much more.”
Tickets are on sale for $45 and include a variety of ocean-inspired wines paired with an assortment of small bites. Guests can also enjoy a complimentary welcome cocktail or mocktail upon arrival, and a “lively evening of spirited bidding”.
The full catalogue of auction items and tickets is available at www.buei.org and www.ptix.bm. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 294-0204 or visiting the Oceans Gift Shop at BUEI.
All proceeds from the event will support BUEI’s education programmes, community outreach initiatives and maintenance of the Ocean Discovery Centre exhibits.
The event takes place at BUEI from 5.30pm to 7pm.
