Man denies exposing himself

A 26-year-old man was remanded in custody today after he denied exposing himself in public.The homeless man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Magistrates’ Court heard the charges related to an alleged incident on South Road in Warwick on Saturday.Simone Smith-Bean, lawyer for the defendant, said her client had a history of mental health problems and needed help not available to him in prison.Magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case until June 1.• It is The Royal Gazette’s policy not to allow comments on stories regarding court cases.
