Man fined $2,000 for assault

A man who punched a person in the face and broke his nose was fined $2,000 after he was convicted of assault.

Chris Furbert Jr, 41, was found guilty at Magistrates' Court on Wednesday of an attack on Joshua Butler.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo heard that the assault happened on June 30 last year at Snorkel Park Beach in Dockyard.

Furbert, from Southampton, was ordered to pay the fine by the end of the day.
